This silverplated inkstand was crafted by Elkington & Co. At the center of the inkstand is a cherub or putto, who appears to be holding a torch which may have accommodated a candle. There are two glass inkwells with faceted designs, housed within holders that are part of the base. The base of the inkstand is adorned with detailed scrollwork and rests on four feet. It has the marks for Elkington & Co.
