The surfaces of this inkstand are adorned with rich Champlevé designs in Chinese reds, purple, and turquoise on a white background. The bronze, enhanced with gilt (ormolu) is molded into a riot of swirls, shells, and flourishes. Two cherubs, one at each end, anchor the inkstand.
