This inkstand features a central spherical inkwell made of onyx, which has a hinged lid adorned with champlevé trim, showcasing intricate enamel work in blues and yellow. A half-circle gilt bronze handle arches over the top. The base of the inkstand is rectangular with rounded edges and features champlevé work along its borders, complementing the lid’s design. It stands on four ornate feet.
