Figural pen wipes depicting a bronze cat in a crouching position. Four examples are shown. The fourth is a cat spitting and hissing with the wipe acting as her arched back.
Pen wipes like these were essential desk accessories, used to clean the nibs of dip pens. They prevented the clogging of pens by removing excess ink, ensuring smooth writing.
First cat pictured sold for $250 in April 2024
Hissing cat sold for $369 in September 2016
