This inkwell is made of banded agate stone and has a hinged, dome-shaped lid. It also features two pen channels carved directly into the stone. Agate is a type of chalcedony characterized by its distinct layers of color. The bands of gray, white, orange, and reddish-brown create an interesting pattern across the inkwell’s polished surface.
