A 19th century Italian Capodimonte porcelain inkwell modelled as a genie and lamp. Applied gilding and hand painted in polychrome enamels with loop handle and square base. The end of the lamp hinges open to reveal a removable porcelain insert.  This Capodimonte piece is marked on the base with a crown over Neopolitan N and dates this to the 19th century.
