The natural shape of this hand carved inkwell is a burl nodule. Burl wood is known for its unique and highly figured grain patterns, characterized by swirls and irregularities. These patterns are a result of the tree’s growth deformities, making each piece of burl wood distinct and prized for its beauty. This inkwell showcases the natural, uneven edges of the burl wood. The top part swivels open to reveal the glass insert.
