A beautifully sculpted inkwell in the shape of Buffalo Bill Cody, the world famous buffalo hunter and promoter of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West shows that toured America and the world in the late 19th century. Cast in spelter metal, it retains its original hand-painted colors. The hat is hinged in the rear and tips back revealing the inkwell inside. His prominent moustache is turned upward to hold an ink pen. The inkwell is mounted on a black marble base, and likely was sold as a souvenir at the Buffalo Bill Wild West shows.
