A heavy bronze inkwell by Just Andersen (Danish, 1884- 1943) with bronze insert and lid in verdigris finish, marked “Denmark”, “B153”, and the “Just” hallmark on the underside.

Andersen is famous for his metalworks, sculpture, tableware, jewelry, decorative arts in bronze and pewter. Stylistically from Danish Arts and Crafts through Deco to sleek modern designs. Andersen was a contemporary of Georg Jensen.

 

Sold for $345 in November 2012
