This bronze inkstand features elaborate scrollwork and floral motifs. There are two inkwells with hinged lids on either side of the central figure. This central figure is a detailed sculpture of a person dressed in historical attire, possibly from the 18th or 19th century. The figure is holding a long object that resembles a pipe or a musical instrument, such as a flute or recorder. The person’s posture suggests they are either playing the instrument or examining it closely.
