This brass inkstand marked “Gusum” boasts a rectangular base with a raised edge and four spherical feet at each corner. The front section features a recessed area for holding pens. The square structure holding the inkwell has a hinged lid with round finial and is decorated with Laurel leaf wreaths on the front and sides. The rear displays a lattice design. Gusum, a Swedish brass foundry established in the 1600s has a long history of producing high-quality brass items.
