This ornate brass double inkstand features two inkwells with hinged lids. The front two feet are shaped like dolphins. Incorporated into the center backplate and also in the front center of the base are two grotesque faces or masks. There is a mark impressed on the bottom, but it is illegible. The bottom line may read “Sachsenhausen”, but it’s not clear.
