This bronze inkstand/match holder features a detailed sculpture of a young boy hunter proudly holding up a rabbit he has just shot, with a musket in his other hand. In the front, there is a small dog intently gazing up at the rabbit the boy is holding. To the right, there is a stone outcropping that serves as the lid of the inkwell, adorned with the boy’s hat and bag. The surrounding foliage, designed to resemble leaves from a marsh, is intended to hold matches. Additionally, there is a match striker located at the back of the piece.
