Description

• Base Tray: A rectangular slab of polished black glass (sometimes referred to historically as “Vitrite” or black glass) featuring clean, unornamented bevels along the top edges.
• Inkwells: Two heavy, block-cut clear glass reservoirs set side-by-side in brass collar frames. Each clear glass block is fitted with a removable clear glass insert.
• Lids: Square, hinged metal covers trimmed in brass with inset flat, polished black glass tops that mirror the base tray.
• Pen Holder: Positioned directly in front is a curved brass pen holder.

Origin and Date of Manufacture

• Period / Date: Circa 1920s–1930s (Art Deco Period). The sharp geometric lines, contrast between heavy clear crystal and black glass, and functional brass fittings are classic signatures of Art Deco office accessories.
