- The Base: The base is a polished slab of dark marble with a pen channel in front.

- Maker and Mark: The piece is stamped “FRANJOU,” confirming its manufacture under the trade name/pseudonym utilized by the casting workshop associated with the famous French sculptor Hippolyte Moreau.
