Stylish Art Nouveau Tudric planished pewter inkwell made for Liberty & Co, with its design attributed to Archibald Knox (Scottish, 1864-1933) and dating from around 1902. The inkwell has a removable glass liner and is marked TUDRIC and numbered 0521 to the base.
“Tudric” is a brand name for pewterware made by W. H. Haseler’s of Birmingham for Liberty & Co. of London, the chief designer being Archibald Knox. Liberty began producing Tudric in 1899 and continued to the 1930s. The designs use Art Nouveau and Celtic Revival styles.
