This double inkstand is an example of American Art Nouveau metalware, with its floral motifs, scrollwork, and curvilinear design. It is embossed on the underside: “AMW Newark NJ Made in USA”. AMW are the initials for the American Metal Ware Company. AMW was a prominent manufacturer of various metalware products, including desk accessories, hardware, and decorative items.
