The double inkstand’s base is made from veined dark green marble. It sits on four brass feet and inlaid brass bordering and has a pen channel. Covering the inkwells are hinged brass lids ornamented with acorn finials. Each glass insert is two parts – the glass container and a glass funnel piece.
The matching ink blotter is made from the same marble and has a heavy brass handle which unscrews to change blotting paper. The letter holder has three sections divided by twisted brass rope. There is a brass candlestick and a letter opener with a swan handle.
