Antique 17th or early 18th century Russian or Ukrainian, portable inkwell cast of copper alloy in the form of a flattened flask with flaring mouth and two loops on the sides for suspension. Adorned at the front and the back with a low relief incised décor depicting a popular 17th-century Russian topic “Fight of the lion and unicorn.” A similar inkwell is mentioned in the book “Folk Art in the Soviet Union” by Tatyana Razina.

Sold for $200 in December 2023
