This inkstand features an eagle with outstretched wings at the top. The base has three clawed feet, modeled after an animal, possibly a lion. The three figures on the tripod inkwell are cherubs, characterized by their childlike appearance and wings. The lid is covered with florals and female masks. This inkstand was likely a souvenir from a “Grand Tour”. These were popular souvenirs for wealthy European travelers in the 18th and 19th centuries, often made in Italy or France.
