An inkwell in the form of a bronze bust of a man in sailor’s attire wearing a beret.  The headband of the beret is inscribed “Le Louis XV”. The man’s face is detailed with prominent facial hair, including mutton chops, which were a popular style during the 18th century. The hat is hinged and can be lifted to reveal a glass inkwell inside, which is secured with cork.

Sold for $75 in November 2024
