This cold-painted inkwell depicts a young figure, likely an Arab or Bedouin, sitting on a recumbent camel. The top half of the rider is hinged and opens to reveal the inkwell inside. The figure is dressed in traditional Middle Eastern attire, which includes a head covering and a robe, common in Arab and Bedouin cultures. the camel, lying down with its legs folded underneath, serves as the base of the inkwell.
