This trench art inkstand, crafted from a French artillery shell, serves as a commemoration of the Battle of Verdun in World War I, a devastating conflict where 7000,000 soldiers lost their lives. The inkstand features two glass inkwells with hinged lids, housed within the artillery shell. The centerpiece plaque is inscribed “Verdun.” The base of the inkstand is supported by legs made of split bullets.
