This hand-carved Black Forest inkwell is designed to resemble a traditional Alpine or Bavarian hat. The hat features a wide brim and a band around the base of the crown, which is intricately carved to mimic a braided or twisted texture. There’s also a feather protruding from the band. The “dent” at the top of the crown serves as a place to rest a pen. The upper half of the hat is hinged, allowing it to open and reveal the inkwell inside.
