This Art Nouveau inkstand features two glass inkwells connected by a brass frame with handles on each side. The brass filigree around each of the inkwells features swags, garlands, and satyrs. The lids are impressed with the face of a satyr. The handles on each side are also feature faces of satyrs. The mark “GES. GESCH.” stands for “Gesetzlich Geschützt,” indicating that the design was registered or patented in German-speaking countries.
