This inkwell was a promotional give-away for Casals shoes. It was likely intended for a child to use, given its size and the relief scene depicting two boys playing on a seesaw (a board balanced over a log). Embossed text on the lid reads “CASALS SHOE”. On the bottom is impressed “CASALS” and “obsequio” (“gift” in Spanish),”Deposito S.M. 743″, and a diamond-shaped logo with the letters “A F”.
