The red coloring in the glass inkwell is dried red ink in the clear glass body. The square brass and copper base that holds the inkwell feature Celtic knot-like decoration. The standout feature of this inkwell is its lid. Beneath the copper openwork resembling a stylized flower is colorful iridescent enameling in a range of colors – blue, green, purple, white, yellow, and red. The inkwell has a monogram of “W A” on the base.
