This silverplated inkstand features a built-in rocker blotter and a hinged lidded stamp box both integral to and highlights of the design – a harmonious blend of art and functionality. The design is attributed to Peter Behrens. The piece is marked WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), B (Brittania an alloy with tin), I/O (normal thickness of silverplating), OX (oxidized), and the number 184.
