An Art Nouveau metal inkstand with an organic, flowing design incorporating sinuous curves. In the center is a semi-nude woman sitting at water’s edge. A dragonfly hovers above the fish and flora in a pool of water which serves as a holding area for pens, etc. There is an inscription etched into this area: “18 18/142 T.K. 12 12/102”. No conjecture as to the inscription’s meaning. On each side are inkwells shaped as lotus blossoms. The tops are hinged to access the glass inkwell.
