A bronze pen wipe cast in the form of a running fox with glass eyes. Set in the fox’s body are densely packed boar’s hair bristles made stiff to clean the nibs of dip pens. They prevented clogging by removing excess ink. The underside is stamped “Geschutzt” – the German equivalent of a patent. Attributed to Bergmann.
