Cast brass figural double inkwell in the form of a French Bombé desk or bureau with a lift-off top. Open the hinged top to access to amber blown glass inkwells. No embellishment was too elaborate for this Baroque style inkstand, from the serpentine front to the foliate legs, to the elaborate embossing on every surface, including the sides and back. Flowers, leaves, shells, scenes of courting couples and farmers in their fields, all done in highly detailed relief.
