Glass Inkwell in a Cast Iron Stand – Single and Double Versions

The pressed glass inkwell with lobed corners has a cover that is attached to the frame, lifted upright when in use.  The back plate has an open-work sunburst motif. The top is notched to hold three pens, and in the rear are blotter slots (intact here – often broken).  This inkwell was advertised in the Sears Roebuck and Co. 1897 catalog for 45 cents.
