This jade inkwell with sterling silver fittings has a Foo dog on top and two Foo dog handles holding rings. It is mounted on a gold-colored wood base. Marked on the underside of the lid: Edward I. Farmer / N.Y. / Sterling.

Edward I.  Farmer (1872 – 1942), an antique dealer and collector of Chinese jades and porcelains, operated an art gallery in New York, NY.
