Buyer Be Aware! Vintage Kasli Cast Metal Inkwell – Hunting Dogs and Partridge

The seller listed this inkstand as follows:

“Approx. 8 ¾” long and 4″ tall. Cast metal composition unknown. Seller is not a business or expert. Known specifications on item captured in the pictures. It is assumed buyer is familiar with product when buying. Selling as found-cleaning and any other maintenance left to new owner. Estate sale find-history of item unknown. Cannot read the date on stamp due to wear/damage-looks like some time in the 20th century (19–). Good-faith effort has been made to properly identify/display/represent conditions and content of sale. Pictures and description may not be all-inclusive but give fair representation of conditions. Emails always welcome. Thank you for looking!”

This inkwell was made in the Russian Federation in 1984. I’m assuming the reason for the wear / damage that obfuscates the date was the direct result of someone scraping the date off.

I suppose 1984 is considered “vintage” these days. Nonetheless, the deception is maddening.
