Well-crafted patinated bronze and tin standish with silvered and gilt finish. Fashioned as a sailboat, it is set on a patinated bronze base with four acanthus leaf feet. The ship is fitted with a hand-blown Murano glass inkwell with an enamel design and domed lid with baluster finial. It is inscribed “Salati Domingo Freire” on the sail and dated “7 Febrero 1897” on the side.
