This cast iron double revolving inkstand was manufactured by Judd Manufacturing Co. or H.L.Judd Co. of Wallingford, CT circa 1879 and later. In addition to the two blown-mold glass reservoirs, the inkstand features a three station pen rack, a letter holder, a pen brush, and a paper needle roll holder (needles were used like staples to bind sheets of paper together). The inkstand base is marked underneath with two patent dates, Jan. 14,1879 and Nov.25, 1879. The former patent is US000211307 with William F. Redding the patentee, and the latter patent is US000221965 with Albert D. Judd the patentee.
