Every time I see this inkwell, it somehow brings to mind the plant named “Audrey” in the “Little Shop of Horrors” show. But it’s an inkwell and dates back to around 1920. Brightly colored enamel on metal, the horse chestnut (or Buckeye as we refer to them in Ohio) attached to a stem with leaves is partially opened and rests on a piece of bark (?) which serves as a pen tray. One can see a ladybug crawling towards the nut.
