This inkstand advertises the Union Tank & Pipe Company of Los Angeles, California. Depicted is a nude strong man holding up a pipe between two tanks, which hold inkwells under the hinged lids.
The back of the inkstand is stamped “Rehberger Mfg Co”, a company founded in 1912 which specialized in molded metal sculptures and figures (bookends, banks, miniature buildings, paper weights, etc.)
