English solid sterling silver double inkstand with generous frontal pen-tray in a restrained Art Deco style. The hinged tops to the inkwells are gilded below, a pleasing sign of the highest quality. Made by silversmiths Robert Pringle & Sons, hallmarked 1938 London.
