1920’s Art Deco solid silver inkwell of square curved form with hinged lid with a silver-gilt underside and original glass inkwell. The lid and bottom edges are embellished with an engine turned checkered pattern. The underside is leather bound.

Fully hallmarked with the anchor head for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date “B” for the year 1926 and the makers mark “CB & S” which is A & J Zimmerman Ltd (Arthur & John Zimmerman).
