Origin Bohemia
Date or Era circa 1900
Measuring 3 ¼” square; 2 ¾” high

Bohemian (Czech) iridescent art glass inkwell with a copper lid. It is not marked – possibly Loetz or Kralik.

The inkwell’s brass alloy lid resembles the veins of a leaf. The lid has an asymmetrical, lobed shape. While this inkwell could have been made by the Kralik glassworks, I’m attributing this inkwell to Loetz. The leaf-like, stylized organic shape of the lid aligns well with Loetz’s typical metalwork.
