This Art Nouveau inkstand is a beautiful example of the style, featuring a woman’s bust crafted from patinated polychromed spelter. The intricate design of her hair, flowing down her face and neck to her shoulders, frames her face elegantly. The inkstand includes two stemmed glass inkwells, each adorned with floral hinged lids. The word “MIGNON” is woven among the floral elements. The back of the inkstand is signed “C. Blanc” The word “Brossy” is engraved on the ovoid-shaped base – perhaps the foundry where this piece was produced.
