The “ADAC Wagenfahrt 1913” was a motoring event organized by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC) in 1913. This event was significant enough to inspire the creation of this motoring-themed inkstand by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). The inkstand is crafted from pewter with traces of silver plating. It is designed in the form of an early racing car, complete with a driver wearing a cap and goggles and co-driver (or mechanic). The hinged hood (bonnet) opens to reveal a small tray for nibs, stamps, etc. while the rear compartment holds an inkwell. The piece is marked with WMF stamps on the right side.
