Origin | Czechoslovakia |
Date or Era | Early 20th century |
Measuring | 5.25 inches diameter base, 2-3/4 inches high. |
Described as a Loetz style iridescent glass inkwell with brass cover when purchased. It appears from the markings under the lid that it should be attributed to Kralik. I am unsure how to differentiate other than the information under the lid. Please reference the note below found while researching on the internet.
Under the lid are 2 lines of centered print:
DGM A
K K OEST PATA
Note: Czech manufacturers used a common source for the tops attached to their inkwells. Examples are usually stamped with a factory mark and several patent numbers. Most tops, irrespective of shape or design, have a several marks, including: OE.P. (Österreiches Patent) followed by 10385 and D.R.G.M. (Deutches Reich Gebrauchsmuster/ German Reich Registered Design) followed by 168180.
2001 purchased for $320.
