This is a silverplated inkstand with an ornate, rococo-inspired design. It features a central glass inkwell with a separate, domed silver-plated lid. The base is an undulating, organic shape with embossed floral motifs along its edges. Rising behind the inkwell is a pen holder shaped like a butterfly with outstretched, openwork wings and curled antennae.
