This porcelain inkstand features a central silver holder designed for an inkwell and sander. This silver section is covered by a hinged silver lid, ornately decorated. These silver components bear the “Minerva” silver fineness mark, which is a common French hallmark indicating the purity of the silver.
The base of the inkstand is crafted from reticulated porcelain, characterized by its intricate openwork design. It is adorned with delicate hand-painted floral motifs in various shades, set against a predominantly white and pink background. Gilt accents highlight the contours. The underside of the porcelain base is marked with the “Sevres” inscription, along with the letter “E” and is embossed with “CN”.
