A stack of writing paper, envelopes, and a quill form the base of this inkstand. The inkwell has a hinged lid with a green glass insert. Marked on the bottom “K. & O. Co.” (K. & O. Novelties Company, Brooklyn, New York). America, c. 1925. Bronze finish over white metal. Pictured and described on page 170 of The Collector’s World of inkwells by Jean & Franklin Hunting.

Estimated value $225-$325 in 2000. A version with a darker bronze finish (no insert) sold for $30 in May 2024 (pictures added). Another sold for $59 in December 2024.
