Mt. Washington Glass Works was founded in 1837 in South Boston, Massachusetts. Over the years, they produced various types of glass. Mt. Washington was known for its innovative art glass. Their pieces rivaled those of Tiffany and Steuben during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company’s first art glass line was introduced in 1877.
In 1870, Mt. Washington Glass Works relocated to New Bedford, Massachusetts. Interestingly, from 1880 until 1894, they supplied glass to the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company.
