This Japanese bronze inkwell is designed in the shape of a human skull. On the lidded top of the skull, a rat is depicted with its tail curling along the skull’s contour, while another rat crawls on the side. The snake, with its mouth open and fangs exposed, is ready to strike.

Sold for $506 in July 2012
