This majolica (tin-glazed pottery) inkstand features a rich blue color with intricate designs and patterns. The central part of the inkstand has two lidded inkwells with a floral pattern. The body of the inkstand is adorned with detailed reliefs of cherubs riding mythical beasts, surrounded by foliage and scrollwork. The sides of the inkstand are flanked by sculpted dolphins. The top and bottom edges are decorated with a border of raised dots, and there is a shell motif at the back.
